Which barcode type?
- EAN-13: the standard for products in shops. Enter 12 digits and the 13th, the check digit, is added; or enter all 13 and the tool checks it.
- EAN-8: a short product code for small packages: 7 or 8 digits.
- UPC-A: product codes from the US and Canada: 11 or 12 digits.
- Code 128: text and digits without accents, ideal for order numbers and shipping labels.
- Code 39: capital letters, digits and
- . $ / + %and space. Common in industry and logistics.
If a value doesn't fit the type (a letter in an EAN, or a wrong check digit), the tool explains what to change. Choose the colours, show or hide the text under the bars, and download as PNG or scalable SVG.
Good to know
A barcode for retail products needs a company prefix from GS1; a code you generate here is fine for internal use, inventory, tickets and tests, but not for selling in shops. Make QR codes with the QR code generator.
