Using the tool
Drop your ZIP file in the box and choose the maximum size of each part: 10 MB, 20 MB (email), 100 MB, 1 GB, or a size of your own. The parts are made at once, and you see how many files are in each. Download them one by one, or all together.
How the files are divided
Files are never cut in half, and nothing is recompressed: each file is copied byte for byte into a part. That is fast and safe, but it means a single file larger than your limit gets a part of its own, which is marked as larger than the limit.
Putting the parts together
Every part is an independent ZIP file, so there is nothing to join. Unpack all the parts into the same folder and you have the original files again.

Is the split ZIP free?
Yes. The split ZIP is completely free, with no account, sign-up or usage limit.
Does the receiver have to join the parts again?
No. Each part is an ordinary ZIP file with some of the files. It is not a split archive (like .z01), so every part opens on its own.
What happens to a file that is larger than the limit?
