Make a QR code for your WiFi network. Guests scan it with their phone camera and are connected, without having to type your password. Enter the name and the password, choose the security type and download the code as a PNG or SVG.

How it works

  1. Type your text or link

    As a PNG for a website or a document, or as an SVG for print.

How to use it

  1. Type the name of your network (the SSID) exactly as it appears on your router, capitals and spaces included.
  2. Enter the password and choose the security type. Most networks use WPA2 or WPA3: choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3. If your network has no password, choose No password.
  3. Tick Hidden network if your network name isn't broadcast.
  4. Download the code and print it, for example for the guest room, the fridge or a frame at reception.

Which phones can read it?

The camera app of iPhones (iOS 11 and newer) and of most Android phones (Android 10 and newer) recognises a WiFi code and offers to connect. Older devices need a QR scanner app. Always test the code with your own phone before you put it up.

Is it safe?

Anyone who scans the code can see your password, just as if you had written it down. So only put it up where the people who may use your network will see it. Consider a separate guest network, so your own devices stay apart. The code is made in your browser: your details are not sent anywhere.

Special characters

If your network name or password contains a semicolon, comma, colon, quotation mark or backslash, these are converted automatically so the code is correct.

No. The code contains the text itself; there is no redirect or account behind it. It works for as long as you keep it.

No. The code is made in your browser; your text doesn't go to a server.
