How the slider works

100% is your original. Above 100% the difference between light and dark grows: darks get darker and lights get lighter. Below 100% everything moves towards mid-grey, which gives a soft, faded look. The slider runs from 0% (flat grey) to 200%.

Tips

  • Flat, hazy photos, such as shots through glass or on a grey day, usually improve with 120–140%.
  • Very high contrast loses detail in the shadows and highlights. If that happens, reduce it a little.
  • Contrast changes the tones but not the colours. To make the colours stronger as well, use saturation.
  • Hold Hold to compare to see your original again while you tweak.

Frequently asked questions

What contrast value should I use?

Around 110–140% works for most photos. Go much higher and detail in the darkest and brightest areas starts to disappear.

Will the quality suffer?

No. The download has the same resolution as your original, unless the tool changes the size itself. Save as PNG to keep every detail, or as JPG or WebP for a smaller file.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Your image never leaves your device and is not stored.
