Horizontal and vertical
- Horizontal swaps left and right, like looking in a mirror. It is the one to use for selfies that came out mirrored, or to make a subject face the other way.
- Vertical swaps top and bottom, which gives an upside-down reflection.
- Tick both to turn the image 180°.
Good to know
Text in the image will be mirrored too, so it reads backwards. Flipping doesn't lose any quality. If you want to turn the image instead of mirroring it, use rotate image.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the image, so text still reads the right way. Flipping mirrors it, so text ends up backwards. Turning 180° is the same as flipping both horizontally and vertically.
Will the quality suffer?
No. The download has the same resolution as your original, unless the tool changes the size itself. Save as PNG to keep every detail, or as JPG or WebP for a smaller file.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your image never leaves your device and is not stored.
