How to shrink an image
Set the scale from 5% to 100%, or type the width or height in pixels and the other side follows. The info line shows the old and the new size. Common targets are 1920 pixels wide for a full-screen photo, 1200 for a blog image and 800 or less for e-mail.
Smaller file, too
Fewer pixels mean a smaller file. For an even smaller download, save as JPG or WebP and lower the quality slider a little: 80–85% is usually indistinguishable from the original. PNG keeps everything but produces larger files for photos.
